Air raid shelter

This shelter was built for the pupils
of Princes Plain Secondary School for Girls. When that school closed in
the 1980s, the site was taken over by the primary school. The shelter has been
much altered (see below) and is now a storeroom.

The original entrances to the shelter have
been either bricked up (see left) or replaced by wooden doors. The
shelter has also been shortened at either end. |
